1. Product Overview

The Huawei UBBPg1a is a universal baseband processing unit (UBBP) used in Huawei’s DBS distributed base station platform (BBU3900, BBU3910, BBU5900).
It performs multi-standard baseband signal processing and connects to remote radio units (RRUs) via CPRI optical interfaces.
Compared to earlier UBBPe or UBBPd series, the UBBPg-series (g1/g1a) introduces 5G NR support, while maintaining full compatibility with LTE FDD and NB-IoT.
UMTS capability may be available depending on software version and license configuration.
