Product overview

The UBBPg1 is a high-performance baseband processing board in Huawei’s DBS platform BBUs. It provides multi-RAT baseband resources and connects to RRUs over CPRI. The g-series adds 5G NR capability versus earlier e/d series and supports LTE FDD and NB-IoT; UMTS support depends on software release/licensing. 

Panel & interfaces

• CPRI front-haul: 6 × SFP ports (CPRI0–CPRI5), supporting multiple CPRI line rates and star/chain/ring topologies. 

• High-speed interconnect: 1 × QSFP (HEI) for inter-board resource sharing/expansion. 

• Typical supported CPRI rates: 1.25 / 2.5 / 4.9 / 6.144 / 9.8 / 10.1376 Gbit/s (exact set depends on SW version).

• 5G NR: supported on UBBPg1 per BBU5900 Hardware Description (NR enablement on g1). 

• LTE FDD + NB-IoT: supported with published signaling/BHCA and throughput figures (see below). 

• UMTS: availability varies by release/license; consult project SW baseline.

• Layer-1 throughput (reference): DL 1200 Mbit/s, UL 600 Mbit/s (UBBPg1/1a).
